DOMINICAN STEWED CHICKEN / POLLO GUISADO

DOMINICAN STEWED CHICKEN / POLLO GUISADO

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1/2 kg of chicken meat, clean and cut into pieces
  • 1 pcs of onion, sliced transversely
  • 2 bh red / green peppers, cut across
  • 4 garlic, finely chopped
  • 3 tablespoons olives
  • 5 tablespoons tomato puree
  • 2 tsp oregano
  • 1 tbsp olive oil, if no you can replace it with vegetable oil
  • 1/2 lemon, take the water
  • 3 tsp sugar
  • flavoring and salt to taste
  • 3 tablespoons cooking oil for cooking
INSTRUCTIONS:
  1. In large containers, include chicken, onions, peppers, garlic, olives, tomato puree, oregano, olive oil / vegetable oil, flavor and salt to taste, stir well and let stand for 30 minutes or overnight.
  2. In the pan can also, heat the vegetable oil and sprinkle the sugar, cook until sugar becomes caramel (this aims to cook the meat will have a distinctive brown skin color and make a sense of guriiih on chicken meat)
  3. After the sugar has become caramel, just take the chicken meat (other marinade ingredients set aside for a while) and fry it over the caramel until the meat is cooked on both sides and brownish
